Washing Machine Maintenance Tips
Clean the Filter and Descale
Remove the pump filter at the bottom front every month, rinse under warm water and check the cavity for coins or hair clips. Run an empty hot wash with white vinegar or descaler every 6–8 weeks to prevent limescale buildup on the heating element.
Prevent Mould and Overloading
Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open after every wash to prevent black mould on the seal. Fill the drum to about 80% capacity — you should be able to fit your hand flat on top of the load. Overloading strains bearings, suspension and the drive belt.
Check Hoses Annually
Pull the machine out once a year and inspect the inlet and drain hoses at the back for cracks, bulges or loose connections. A burst hose can flood your kitchen in minutes. Tighten any loose fittings and replace worn hoses immediately.
